2006 News

A Happy New Year to all our members and their loved ones.

30th December 2006
Only a handful of players today while others were recovering from the New Year celebrations.

23rd December 2006
Today was just a social day on a much cooler day after our latest run of hot days. Surprisingly we had 19 players which was a great turnout. We played a stableford comp with $5 each in the kitty. Winner A.Davies(38) got $35, K.Grist(36) got $15 and Stuart Clarke and Tony Mifsud shared $10 3rd place. Paul Clarke came along as he is here on holidays from Perth so you can catch up with him next week. Next week is another social game.

16th December 2006

Very dry conditions on the course now that we are nearing stage 3 water restrictions we can expect dry fairways and lots of run. Damien Lee stopped being the bridesmaid today and won the Champion of Champions trophy with 72 off the

stick and a net 64. Note. Today it was confirmed that this is a formal competition day and therefore A and B grade placings, eclectic eligibility and championship points apply. For those not sure about the handicapping process for 2 week competitions it goes like this. Both weeks of the competition are played using the handicap on entry to the first week. Once the placings for the 2 week competition are known then the first round is handicapped with no placings and the second round is handicapped with the final placings and double championship points. there is some confusion with the trophies which Neil and I are sorting out - The Autumn Cup was incorrect(sorry Craig) and some engraving is still outstanding from this year and last year.

Special welcome to Ed Kloprogge who now has his official handicap.

Results for today are
A Grade) D.Lee(64),S.Butterfield(66),Targe Mifsud(67)
B Grade) D.Ford(65),A.Davies,F.Kitson(68),T.Jackson(70)

9th December 2006
In sweltering heat (hottest Dec day since 1953 - 42 deg) it was very well Done to Andrew Blight who swept all before him to win the Vin O'Meara in a record breaking 124 strokes (beating the previous record of 127). Andrews final round 59 was a sensational score and sealed the trophy convincingly. Damien Lee probably can't believe his 62 in the second round would get knocked off...bad luck Damo!

Full results and betting results can be see by clicking HERE

Final Results for the Vin O'Meara are
1st
– Andrew Blight 124 (65+59!!)
2nd – Damien Lee 130 (68+62!!)

New CALENDAR for 2007 now available

2nd December 2006

The first round of the Vin O'Meara was played in sunny but freezing winds today. The field is well spread and the groups for the second round are shown below. Andrew Blight is 3 clear of the rest of the players with Damien and Gordon both on 68 (Late Press: Andrew also won the Clubhouse Monthly Medal). It should be an interesting finish. Remember this is a double championship point round and todays handicaps will be used next week. Once both rounds are completed the two weeks will be individually handicapped for the Champion of Champions round. Allan Davies scored a hole in one on the 18th green which caused Damien to imitate a well known Toyota ad !!

ECLECTIC FINAL RESULT UPDATED (See left side of screen)

PLEASE RETURN ANY PERPETUAL TROPHIES BY 2ND DEC

25th November 2006
The final round for 2006 went well today with some great scoring from both grades.Trevor Jackson put in his best round for the year and won the Monthly Medal and B Grade with a 62..Well done Trevor!! Chris Priems shot a great round (63) to win A Grade and get the 4 points necessary to win the Club Championship by 2 points from Damien Lee.
Please Note. This is the last formal round of the 2006 competition...the Eclectic ends today as does the Championship points for the year. Next week the Vin O'Meara 1st round is the first formal round of 2007.
I will update the Eclectic when Targe completes the cards probably tomorrow (Sunday)

18th November 2006
Another round of high scores as we start to revel in the finer conditions on the Australian Open weekend. This is the second last game that can earn championship points and none of the leaders (me included) got anywhere this week due to the excellent 40 point win from Stephen Butterfield in A Grade. Well done Stephen. Andrew Blight continues his ongoing improvement to win B Grade with 38 points. As far as the Championship goes tnat leaves Damien, Chris and Allan battling it out for the championship next week .. Gulp! My view is Damien is short odds, Chris is even money and Allan is an outside chance.
Next week is the Dec Monthly Medal and then we are into the Vin O'meara comp the next 2 weeks followed by the Champion of Champions.

Well isn't golf a game of opposites

* If you want to hit up(high) hit down
* if you want to go further(faster) swing slower
* if you want to curve to the right(fade), open your stance to the left

* if you want to curve to the left(draw), open your stance to the right
* if you want to come first in the monthly medal come last in Benalla

Targe Mifsud
proved this last 'opposites law' when he won the monthly medal in a countabck from Gordon Hill..well done Targe..commiserations Gordon. Today overall was excellent scoring from the whole club which is a miracle considering the poor scoring in Benalla but -- hey thats golf!!!

Most of our members had the trip to Benalla for the Cup weekend competition. The weekend was again very successful and the course, although dry as we would have expected, proved very challenging particularly the raised greens and the trees that just seemed to keep getting in the way. Congratulations to our Benalla winner Damien Lee and to the runner up Andrew Tome who almost defended his win last year but missed out by one stableford point.
I have put a whole load of photos from the trip which you can find by clicking HERE. Note there are 2 pages of photos so choose Next > at the bottom of the first page of photos, You can also view as a slide show

Have you ever noticed how the rain belts seem to move around Ivanhoe rather than dump on us. Well today we were blessed - not a drop - and the rest of melbourne was awash...God must love golfers (even though he can't hit a 1 iron!). A Grade put B Grade to shame today and Oliver Gross won the day with 37 stableford - greatly relieving Gordon who was worried he might drop a whole stroke before the Benalla trip :-). B Grade which slightly underperformed today had our honorable president getting the only stableford score in the 30's!! Well done Neil Argall - we B Graders all look up to you!! Next Saturday is the Benalla trip, For those staying in Melbourne there are 2 groups booked for a 7.30am start.

21st October 2006
Andrew Tome came along today to tune up for Benalla and won the A Grade with a square round which although it doesn't sound convincing believe me today it was as nobody got a plus score for the day! Andrew Blight and David Howard both got -1's to take out B Grade. Perhaps the faster greens and Benalla and real tees will be a boon for us all - at least a treat. For those of you that don't know Fred Kitson has been pretty sick this last week with the treatment knocking him around...from all of us Fred keep your chin up and rest properly so you can get back here and thrash us!!
Results for today are
A Grade) A.Tome(0), O.Gross(-1), C.Sharp(-2)
B Grade) D.Howard,A.Blight(-1),K.Delzoppo(-3),K.Grist,B.McDonald(-4)

Handicapper Note. I had a problem where I entered Stuart as Rodger on 14th October (Its hard to spot the difference). The resulting adjustments have not affected any results or championship points but Rodgers and Stuarts handicaps are now shown correctly on this sheet.

14th October 2006
Fine conditions today but playing off very poor back tees which are domed and full of sand (thats my excuse whats yours!)

Sorry folks this is the correct handicap sheet..I had a problem where I entered Stuart as Rodger last week. The resulting adjustments have not affected any results or championship points but Rodgers and Stuarts handicaps are now shown correctly on this sheet.
Damien Lee
continued his winning form today winning the Monthly Medal and A Grade on a day when many of our members (and Golf Access it seems) struggled with scores even though the conditions were optimal - apart form the crap tees :-((
We are not far away from the Benalla trip now so make sure all your preparation for the trip is done (including letting spouses and partners know ahead of time - they like that :-).

30th September 2006
Spring has definitely arrived with the course in great condition and firmer fairways and drives that actually run a fair distance after they land (assuming unlike me they land in the fairway). Today I witnessed the old form coming back for David Ford, that was when he earned his nickname "Uppen Down" for the Calcutta. His putts were sailing in from all over the green and chips were arriving close to the hole 9 times out of 10. Given this form David easily won the day with 40 stableford points and 1st place in B Grade. Obviously the Spring weather also agrees with Craig Sharp who won A grade 4 points clear of second. Well done gents. Nearest the Pin which jackpotted from last week was one by yours truly Allan Davies who was pleased to have his Benalla trip shirt subsidised :-)
Results for today are
A) C.Sharp(38),C.Priems(34),G.Hill(33)
B) D.Ford(40),A.Davies(38),N.Argall(36)

23rd September 2006
Damien Lee opened up his championship point lead by convincingly winning A Grade today in excellent course conditions. Andrew Blight performed well too to win A Grade by 1 shot from Rodger Clarke.
Benalla trip is now very close so all start practising hard for golfing, dining and drinking!!

16th September 2006
Welcome back to Laurie Mannix after all his travels. Although I missed the game this weekend it looks like A Grade had a lot more players than B Grade which indicates the club quality keeps improving. Todays winners were Oliver Gross in A Grade with an excellent +4 (Might have been good enough to knock off Targe last week) and Targe Mifsud who continues his excellent recent form with a +5 in B Grade.
Results for today are
A Grade) O.Gross(+4),A.tome(-1),C.Priems,S.O'Sullivan(-3)
B Grade) Targe Mifsud(+5),D.Ford(+1),N.Argall(0)

9th September 2006
Congratulations to Targe Mifsud, our 2006 Matchplay Champion. Targe won 2&1 against an unlucky Oliver Gross. Great effort from both you guys to make the final.
B Grade outshone A grade with stableford scoring. Gordon Hill put in an amazing 46 points to win B grade by 6 stableford points from Targe who had a very credible 40 points on his way to the Matchplay championship. Stephen Butterfield returned to form to win B Grade today.
Results today are:
A Grade) S.Butterfield(35), O.Gross(34), S.O'Sullivan(33)
B Grade) G.Hill(46), Targe Mifsud(40), A.Blight(35)

2nd September 2006
Today was the first day we have had the whole course dry and reasonably firm so what did we do - failed to get any scores that were par 68 or lower! Plus we managed to get the Nearest the Pin to jackpot. Maybe the good weather fairy got us all. Bob McDonald though managed to get the best score of the day to take out the September Monthly Medal adding to his January Medal for 2 months so far this year - Did you see that! - well done Bobby. Stephen O'Sullivan took out A grade with a net 71 2 clear of his nearest rivals.
Results for today are
A Grade) S.O'Sullivan(71), O.Gross, D.Lee(73), C.Priems(74)
B Grade) McDonald(69), D.Ford(70), N.Argall(71)

Matchplay 2006
Unfortunately Laurie Mannix didn't turn up for his semi final and has forfeited to Targe Mifsud. Wish the finalists (Targe Mifsud and Oliver Gross) good luck week in the Matchplay Final.

26th August 2006 (Note. Eclectic up to date)
Tee times are now starting to draw in with a vengeance. We were caught by surprise when the groups were asked to tee off at 7.45. Note next weeks tee time is 7.37am. A bit boggy today after the rain during the week but overall pretty good. Expecting the course to be looking good over the next few weeks as we enter the great Spring weather. Well done to our winners and grinners - Craig Sharp who had the best score of the day to win A Grade while Fred Kitson and Trevor Jackson continued their winning ways to win B grade.
Belated congratulations to Damien Lee (22 balls) and Stuart Clarke (1 ball sadly) for their eagles in the last two weeks.
Note all matchplay semi's must be completed no later that 2nd September as the final is on the 9th September.

19th August 2006
Well thats another nice day that I've managed to miss so no news of any comic events I can tell you. Well done to Damien Lee and Trevor Jackson today. Isn't Tiger Woods amazing looks like he will overhaul Jack Nicklaus easily now. Targe is still away so the Eclectic will be updated again in about 2-3 weeks.
Note all matchplay semi's must be completed no later that 2nd September as the final is on the 9th September.

12th August 2006
A beautiful day for golf which I managed to sleep through today
so I don;t have any meaningful news except the results. Obviously Essendon dragging themselves off the bottom of the table inspired Rodger the Lodger to great heights to win B Grade and Damien Lee returns to form to take out A Grade today. No matchplay matches were played today. Note all matchplay semi's must be completed no later that 2nd September as the final is on the 9th September.

5th August 2006 (Note. Eclectic up to date)
Boggy...that is the only word to describe conditions today. Despite that Stephen Butterfield carded a 66 which is a great score to win the Monthly Medal 2 clear of Andrew Blight. The other major event was the $129 for the Nearest the Pin Jackpot which was won by Chris Priems (This is a jackpot record) and the last I of saw of Chris he was still shouting beers to all the hangers on eager to help him spend his winnings.

Note. A slight correction to last weeks results Stephen Butterfield had 30 not 31 stableford (because I didn't get the handicaps up to date quick enough .. yeh yeh) so he is equal third with Gordon Hill and Oliver Gross. Championship points have been adjusted accordingly.

Results for today are
Monthly Medal Winner S.Butterfield 66

B Grade) A.Blight(68),G.Hill(70),T.Jackson,D.Howard(71)

29th July 2006
Well guess what - last weeks cards turned up in my buggy seat of all places, so no need to worry that your Eclectic will get out of whack.

Today's round saw Craig Sharp rise back to form and eclipse the whole field with 35 points and win A Grade. Rodger the Lodger and Kenny Grist shared the B Grade spoils with 34 points each. For those of you that
don't know Ken and his wife are off to Canada and Alaska this week so we won't see Ken for 4 weeks. Bon Voyage Ken and Elizabeth!

Results today are
A Grade) C.Sharp(35),A.Davies(33),G.Hill,O.Gross,S.Butterfield(30)
B Grade) R.Clarke,K.Grist(34),N.Argall,D.Howard(31),N.Thomas(30)

22nd July 2006
Sorry for updating the site so late this week but I've been flat out at the salt mine. Not only that I cannot find the cards from last week (although I had a note of all the results so the handicapping and points are ok) but it does mean Targe needs to know which excellent holes you had for the Eclectic. So far I have birdies nominated for D. Lee on 17th, A.Davies on 16th and T.Jackson on the 15th.

Congratulations to Oliver Gross who defeated Stuart Clarke 4&2 and Chris Priems and Neil Argall for winning their grades today.

Next Matchplay semi finals are Laurie Mannix v Targe Mifsud and Chris Priems v Oliver Gross.

Results for today are:
A Grade) C.Priems(+4), D.Lee,O.Gross(+1), S.Butterfield(0)
B Grade) N.Argall(+2), A.Davies(+1), Targe Mifsud,Ken Grist(-2)

PS. The Nearest the pin has jackpotted to $92.00

5th July 2006
Well the Winter Cup truly lived up to its name with a cold day and unrelenting rain....but the scores looked like they were played on a sunny day with no wind....who says we're not all weather golfers!
Congratulations to Stuart Clarke who built a solid lead in Round 1 and put in another great round to win the Winter Cup Trophy with 77 stableford points. Stuart was only 7 strokes over par for the 2 rounds which is a great effort especially given both rounds were in wet and muddy conditions. A charge by Steve O'Sullivan couldn't quite get there but he threatened the leader throughout the second round.

Fred Howe, our founder member and the trophy namesake, was kind enough to turn up to the sausage sizzle after the game and let us all know that the club was formed on friendship and that is still the basis of the club today. Fred has had some trouble with his hip that has prevented him playing but now has a solution, he is going to play left handed and use the opposite hip.....moral of the story is never give up....Fred doesn't......good on you Fred.

Results for the 2006 Winter Cup are
39+38=77 1st Stuart Clarke
34+38=72 2nd Steve O'Sullivan

Well silly me had to work this Saturday so I don't know any of the news...played at Heidelberg on Sunday and had to abandon the round after 12 holes because of horizontal rain. I'm not sure at this point in time whether Chris Priems or Nathan Thomas won the monthly medal as both net scores were the same .. anyway good rounds guys. (Will get an update on Saturday)

24th June 2006
After the hail and rain yesterday the course was a bit boggy today but that didn't stop Stuart Clarke(36) and Laurie Mannix(39) (Welcome to A grade Laurie!) from winning A and B grade. A few of the matchplay quarter final rounds were played today with Laurie beating Stephen O'Sullivan (3&2) and Chris Priems winning his match from Andrew Tome 3&2. Two quarter final matchs remain which must be played before the 12th August.

17th June 2006
Not only did Steve and Laurie win our A and B grade respectively but they also won the A and B Grade in the clubhouse (a first I think). Also its interesting to note that 3 players have gone into single figure handicaps for the first time with the club in the last 6 months, namely Gordon Hill, Derek McDonald and now Stephen O'Sullivan this week. Compare this to 5 years ago we only 2 players with single figure handicaps whereas now we have a total of 9 players in single figures (excluding Andrew Petricola, Brendon Mitchell and Paul Clarke who are all overseas or interstate). Who say's competition doesn't improve our golf!

Results for today are

10th June 2006
A bit down on numbers today due to the long weekend. Both our grade winners scarpered today so they probably don't know they won? Darren Curnow, the relatively new arrival in A Grade, had a +5 today to take out the A grade win, 6 par strokes clear of the field. Andrew Blight won B Grade with a solid +3. Well done gents.
Welcome to Craig Ashworth who put his first card in today.

Everyone enjoy their long weekend - I know I will!

Handicapping Note.
T
here was some confusion as the handicaps for last week were completed at midnight on the Friday and the placings and championship points were omitted (After the 4th glass of merlot I think). This has been corrected and has not affected the results for the 10th June.
Please note also that Tony Mifsud is unable to attend on Saturdays due to his new job requirements and has passed the Eclectic on to his brother Targe Mifsud...Thanks Targe.
Your Honorable Handicapper

3rd June 2006
Congratulations to STEPHEN BUTTERFIELD who put in a great net 67 today
to win the Monthly Medal and also A Grade. 2 shots net clear of the
field on a fairly difficult day showed us Noodles class. Laurie Mannix
also put in a great round and won B Grade well clear of the field with a
net 69. Next week is the long weekend so we can all play and enjoy a
good rest before the next working week :-)

Is our secretary a bandit? Probably not his shoulders getting back to health though!
David Howard had a 42 today to win B Grade and Derek McDonald is continuing his winning streak with a 39 in A Grade.

The Mifsud clan matchplay was played today with Targe defeating his injured brother Tony 5&4.

The Matchplay draw for the quarter finals was drawn out of the hat today and the match to be played on 24th June will have the following pairs

Stephen O'Sullivan v Laurie Mannix
Oliver Gross v Stuart Clarke
Chris Priems v Andrew Tome

Fred Kitson v Targe Mifsud

Good luck to you all
!

A convincing win by Oliver Gross today 7 par points clear of the nearest players. Oliver won A Grade with +8. The rest of the field scored reasonably well for their handicaps but obviously did not have the same magic touch as Oliver today. Course conditions were fine and a little light drizzle here and there was obviously good for our club's token American!
Congratulations too to Bob McDonald who just pipped our our one armed secretary (soon to be two arms and a lower handicap)

A very close call today with Darren Curnow winning the May monthly medal on countback from Stephen Butterfield bot on 66 net. After a downpour the previous night and playing off back tees the conditions were tough so both Darren and Stephen did extremely well and were well clear of the rest of the field.

Allan Davies
was first with +2 for the two rounds closely followed by Targe Mifsud on +1 and David Ford himself coming in 5th. (see results below).

Great to see David Ford playing in his own competition The David Ford Autum Cup. This two round par competition is always a challenge and means you need to play to close your handicap (which David nearly always does). Some of the newer members may not know that David's nickname in the Calcutta is Uppen Down which he gained as a result of his deadly short game that used to defy belief. At one time David was chipping in from off the green as though they were 6 inch putts!!

Results from Round 1 of David Ford Autumn Cup are.

Championship Points
I just found out I'm not perfect...three players got points when they shouldn't have for third placings (Neil Argall, Gordon Hill and Craig Sharp) as they were outside the legal limit (73 or less for stroke, 31 or higher for stableford, Minus 5 or higher for par). The points have been adjusted this week. For full details of your points click here

9th December 2006
In sweltering heat (hottest Dec day since 1953 - 42 deg) it was very well Done to Andrew Blight who swept all before him to win the Vin O'Meara in a record breaking 124 strokes (beating the previous record of 127). Andrews final round 59 was a sensational score and sealed the trophy convincingly. Damien Lee probably can't believe his 62 in the second round would get knocked off...bad luck Damo!

Final Results for the Vin O'Meara are
1st
– Andrew Blight 124 (65+59!!)
2nd – Damien Lee 130 (68+62!!)

B Grade) D.Howard,A.Blight(-1),K.Delzoppo(-3),K.Grist,B.McDonald(-4)

Handicapper Note. I had a problem where I entered Stuart as Rodger on 14th October (Its hard to spot the difference). The resulting adjustments have not affected any results or championship points but Rodgers and Stuarts handicaps are now shown correctly on this sheet.

Well silly me had to work this Saturday so I don't know any of the news...played at Heidelberg on Sunday and had to abandon the round after 12 holes because of horizontal rain. I'm not sure at this point in time whether Chris Priems or Nathan Thomas won the monthly medal as both net scores were the same .. anyway good rounds guys. (Will get an update on Saturday)

Results for today are:
A Grade) D.Curnow(+5),Targe Mifsud(-1),R.Clarke(-3)
B Grade) A.Blight(+3),B.McDonald(-4),N.Thomas(-5)

The Mifsud clan matchplay was played today with Targe defeating his injured brother Tony 5&4.

Stephen O'Sullivan v Laurie Mannix
Oliver Gross v Stuart Clarke
Chris Priems v Andrew Tome

Fred Kitson v Targe Mifsud

Good luck to you all

20th May 2006
A convincing win by Oliver Gross today 7 par points clear of the nearest players.
Results for today are
A Grade) O.Gross(+8),D.McDonald(+1),G.Hill(0)
B Grade) B.McDonald(+1),D.Howard(0),N.Argall(-1)

A very close call today with Darren Curnow winning the May monthly medal on countback from Stephen Butterfield bot on 66 net. After a downpour the previous night and playing off back tees the conditions were tough so both Darren and Stephen did extremely well and were well clear of the rest of the field.

Please note players must have played 10 rounds this year to qualify for the trophy

A HAPPY XMAS AND NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES

LETS HOPE 2006 IS THE YEAR OF LOWER HANDICAPS :-)

A bit drizzly for those hardy souls that were still in town for Easter. Only 13 players and all B graders had placings for just for showing up!! Tony Mifsud took out A grade (40 points) with an excellent round with lots of long putts going in, watch out Targe in the matchplay (Yes finally our sibling players meet head to head in the matchplay). Cooler weather obviously suits Rodger the Lodger and Fred who both had fine rounds to win A and B grade respectively. Well we now have the matchplay underway .. the results I have for today are not complete so will update the results of the other pairs next week Congratuolations to Fred Kitson and Andrew Tome the grade winners in the Stableford competition. For those of you who may not be aware we always play a stableford competition on matchplay days and the the matchplay participants have two cards on the day, one for matchplay the other with their stableford score. This was passed by the committee a year or so ago to ensure that non matchplay players had something to play for.
Results for today are:
C.Priems d S.Butterfield 2&1
L.Mannix d G.Hill 1 up .
Fred Kitson d Rodger Clarke 2&1

11th March 2006
Low numbers today as it is the Labour Day weekend. Course was in good condition, well mowed and great weather today. Only 13 players with 3 in B Grade and 8 in A Grade. All players under 90 today and good scores from everybody on the day. One question was asked today regarding the match play index and how to use it. If you are on 18 and the other player is on 15 then the 3 stroke difference is used on the 3 hardest holes on the index ie. 13th, 2nd and 16th holes.
Results today are
A Grade) D.Lee(+3),C.Sharp(+2),D.McDonald,S.Butterfield(0)

Rules Update (David Howard to update please)
Fred Kitson has suggested that the rules (See Competition Rules on left of the screen) should be updated especially for :-
(a) the Nearest the Pin maximum distance (length of tape 5m or 3 flag lengths 5.4m ;
(b) Eagles nest now 1 extra ball per fortnight and what happens when balls go off in first week of a fortnight;

4th Feb 2006
A much milder day with excellent conditions. Greens and rough a bit furry but a nice green course considering the hot weather we have been experiencing. Commiserations to Keith Delzoppo who despite getting the best net score (66) - 3 clear of the field - was ineligible for the monthly medal as he hadn't had a game in the preceding month (We do this to ensure that people turn up consistently - and therefore socially - rather than just for medal days).

The monthly medal winner was decided on countback and David Ford (69) won the countback from Stephen O'Sullivan and Allan Davies. Full results are

Monthly Medal Winner D.Ford on countback from S.O'Sullivan & A.Davies

Welcome Jason.

Today the maximum temperature was 40deg. Although I couldn't play today I was told that it was pretty warm on the back 9 holes and the rough around the greens was deep (keep practising your lob shots).

Despite the oppresive heat Andrew Blight was head and shoulders above the rest of the field with 46 stableford points and 80 off the stick. This meant Andrew beat his best stableford record by 4 stableford points and his best off the stick by 5 strokes. Unfortunately this means that there is a handicap adjustment of 5 strokes. Well done Andrew!!!

Next week is the Australia Day weekend and I think we've booked 4 groups. (Yours truly will be away so can someone let Tony Mifsud know to ring through the results to me for the handicapping and also can somebody take a print-out of the handicap sheet along next saturday .. tks from your honorable handicapper)

Perfect day for golf 25 deg, slight breeze, blue skies - sigh! Of the 5 A Graders today the shining star with his best front nine ever and 3 birdies was Chris Priems with 40 points. B Graders, who were more numerous, managed to crowd first place with 3 tied players - David Ford, Allan Davies and Stephen O'Sullivan who all managed 37 points.

For those of you wondering where the website vanished to - we had to renew the site for another year which costs nothing but had to be done by 11th Jan (I forgot!) so now its renewed we'll have the same problem when I forget next year :-))

Good news that Fred Howe will be back again next week raring to go! Welcome back Fred.
