LOCAL RULES AT IVANHOE GOLF COURSE

(Updated February 2017)

OUT OF BOUNDS:

*All boundary fences, drain north side of 13^th hole, carpark areas and black-tipped stakes are out of bounds (rule 27.1)

* Behind the 15th green, the area beyond the mown grass is out of bounds

DEFINED PATHS:

*All bitumen, crushed rock & granite sand ONLY are ‘free drop’ (rule 24.2). This includes the crushed rock on left side of approach to 13^th green

HAZARDS:

*All ponds are lateral water hazards. Margins are defined either by red tipped stakes or where the incline of the bank meets the top edge of the rough/fairway (rule 26.1)

POND on 2nd HOLE:

*A tee shot that enters the pond adjacent to the back tee, must be replayed from the tee with penalty of one stroke.

DRAIN on 9th HOLE:

* Defined drain at base of hill on 9^th hole is free lift & drop (rule 24.2)

GUR:

*Defined by white lines and/or GUR signs - free lift & drop (rule 25.1)

*Maintenance area near 3^rd hole is GUR - free lift & drop (rule 25.1)

*Sand areas under bucket stands are GUR- free lift & drop (rule 25.1)

*Area inside & including fence around new dam - free lift & drop (rule 25.1)

YOUNG TREES:

*Any tree or shrub under 2 club lengths is compulsory free lift & drop (rule 24.2)

GARDEN BEDS:

(environmentally sensitive areas) free lift & drop (rule 25.1)

*Includes club house precincts & 4^th, 8^th, 14^th & 17^th tees ONLY

*All Wood-chipped areas or areas defined by white stakes.

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS:

free lift & drop (rule 24.2) includes:

• protective fences or screens

• directional signs, tap & drain covers

• yardage markings

• ball washers, seats & sand containers

• white hoops

• rubbish bins, teaching fairway container & matted/concrete areas

• sewage stack 11^th hole, sewage pipe 15^th

MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS:

White hoops, posts and ropes defining GUR (Rule 24.1)

ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS:

Wheel and tyre marks - but only if causing an impression in terrain (Rule 25.1)

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES:

• Match Play – Loss of Hole

• Stroke Play – 2 strokes

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES (GPS):

Use of devices that measure distance ONLY is allowed (Rule 14.3) PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE: Disqualification
