Obviously our winner today loves the winter conditions. Tony Mifsud shot an excellent 40, three stableford points clear of the field. Its interesting to note that that nobody has had 40 points or more in August for the last six years so its an excellent effort. Second place was hotly contested with Emilio, Noodles and Oliver all putting in 37 points.

Stefan Belevski got his first official card in today and played his first competition and Mike Mann got his second card in .. so the competitions hotting up!

Match play semi finals need to be played by 18th September. The players are

Our August Monthly Medal winner, Chris Priems, once again into single figures, hit 74 off the stick to win with a net 63 today and jump to third place in the club championship within striking distance of El Presidente. Richard Hall put in a great 65 for second placing and third place was hotly contested with Craig, Ken and Mehmet beating their handicaps with net 67’s.

Congratulations to Stefan Belevski our new member who now is official and playing off 8 handicap after putting in 3 cards of 77, 76 and 75. Mike Mann also put in his first card.

Note. Tee time winds back to 8.00am this week.

Once again the youngest member of the clan shows everyone a clean pair of heels with +8 !!!.  This result is the fourth best all time score for par with +9,+10 and +12 being the highest recorded. Well done Kazim…its such a shame that the handicapper has to get at you :-).

In the matchplay Andrew Blight defeated Targe Mifsud 1up  in a close fought match. If you are still in the matchplay please check the matchplay chart (on right side of screen) for time and opponent.

Its fitting that Fred Howe, who this competition is dedicated to, was able to open the honor board recently and see that this club has maintained its growth and camraderie and I’m sure he’ll be delighted that it was a tightly contested competition. Players who were in the leading places in the first round largely maintained their consistency for placings in the final round. Consistency is the key and this was demonstrated by our winner and grinner for this year – Winter Cup Champion – Damien Lee

Damo as one shot clear of runners up Chris Priems and Oliver Gross and Laurie Mannix running a gallant 3rd after his blitzer last week.

Nearest the pin money and ball went to Andrew Petricola and the Eagles Nest went off to Grant Heavysage. Well done lads.
