Presidents Message from Andrew
Hello fellow illustrious members (excluding Tomp and Dags)
Apologies for only having limited rounds lately (although a few of you would be delighted) but Caroline and I are trying to purchase a property and unfortunately not having much luck at the moment…so I have had the pleasure of inspecting numerous properties and getting to realize more and more what we can/cannot afford…
Anyhow, I am writing this message to advise that our next meeting will be on October monthly medal day. If you have any agenda items or new business you would like to raise, please issue to either myself or David Howard 1 week prior to the meeting date so these can be added to the agenda for discussion.
Also during the meeting we will invite nominations for the committee in 2011 so if you can have these ready for the day also these can be tabled at the AGM in December.
Hit them straight and very often.

Results for September Monthly Medal 4th Sept 2010
A true bunch of winter golfers played today with only 13 players in the wet conditions. Despite the weather the scores were truly outstanding with three players beating their handicaps. Stephen Butterfield (Noodles) put in an great net 63 to win the September monthly medal only one stroke clear of Richard Hall with a net 64 and Priemsy chasing with a net 66. Terrific performance in the conditions and well done Stephen!
Note next weeks tee time has come in to 7.22am.

Par often brings out tied wins and today was no exception with four players getting the win with +2. Congratulations to Gordo, Damo, Targe and Priemsy for good solid rounds today and first placing. Only eliminating one mistake would have put someone in front but Par is a pretty unforgiving format and mistakes in par rounds hit harder than mistakes in stableford. 8 players out of 19 got par or better today which is a good percentage result.
Damo’s popped back onto the top of the Championship table .. as Julie Guillard would say ‘Game On!’
Next weeks tee time comes back to 7.30am for the September Monthly Medal.

Today a small miracle occurred right here in Melbourne. Defying all the laws of physics, a tee shot managed to hit the tee past the ladies markers and the ball (which was totally missed by the driver) went backwards into its own divot. Its rumored that Silvers circus is looking to hire our own CRAIG SHARP as their star performer. Such talent right here in our midst is truly awe-inspiring!.
To more mundane matters our winner this week was non other than Jan Siemon who shot a solid 39 just pipping out Rodger Clarke by 1 point for second and Mal Fleming with 36 for third place. Good to see a matchplay pair get good placings in the daily competition.
Matchplay. Rodger won his matchplay against Mal Fleming with a tight win of 2 & 1 and Chris Priems held off Oliver Gross to win 3 & 1.
Mike Mann has now got his third card in and is officially handicapped for next week which will be everybody’s favourite PAR!
