Gents, photo of me and the old fella’s I went to the Open with. This is the Wednesday night and the Scottish mist has come in (for the one and only time thank goodness). The bloke with his arm around me is Donnie Rieter, winner of two Oz amatuers and runner up in two Vic opens. Knows Howard well. Bloke to his right is Peter Duffy, 60 years of age playing off plus 1. The others ranged from 7 to 2 (on Yarra Yarra). I told ’em I had a bad back on my way to a lazy 91 at Crail. Also told em that Ivanhoe was one hard track!
